Alexis Morejon ( Havana, 1967)
Born in Havana, Cuba (1967), raised in an artistic environment, he always developed concerns and attitudes for painting.
Despite not having studied at a Fine Arts school, during his childhood and youth he took private drawing, perspective and color management courses. At the age of 19, he began to work as a set painter at the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television of Cuba, where he stayed for a few years, where he began to develop his pictorial technique and to appear in different collective exhibitions. Parallel to this work, Alexis a has a career as a musician in groups of great experience in Cuba, which forced him to stay away from this art (although he never stopped painting) due to national and international commitments that his career as a composer, arranger and , renowned music producer and singer.
In 2005, he emigrated to Guatemala and later to the United States where he currently resides, and begins to rescue that pending need for what has been the plastic arts and in which he has been working for the last 10 years with the aim of developing his technique. and style, now from adulthood and his creative experience, combined with his work as a musician and audiovisual producer.
The most notable influences of the artist are shown in a journey that goes from the most elementary forms of Renaissance painting to the most absurd surrealists, revealing a refined style and elevated aesthetic language.
Nació en La Habana, Cuba (1967) criado en un ambiente artístico siempre desarrolló inquietudes y adtitudes para la pintura.
A pesar de no haber estudiado en una escuela de Bellas artes, durante su infancia y juventud tomó cursos particulares de dibujo, perspectiva y manejo del color. A la edad de 19 años ingresa a laborar como pintor escenográfico en el Instituto Cubano de Radio y Televisión de Cuba, en el que se mantuvo por algunos años, donde comienza a desarrollar su técnica pictórica y a presentarse en diferentes exposiciones colectivas. Paralelamente a este trabajo Alexis a lleva una carrera de músico en agrupaciones de gran trayectoria en Cuba, que le obligaron a mantenerse distanciado de este arte (aunque nunca dejo de pintar) debido a compromisos nacionales e internacionales que le exigía su carrera como compositor, arreglista, productor musical y cantante de renombre.
En el año 2005 emigra a Guatemala y posteriormente a Estados Unidos donde actualmente radica, y comienza a rescatar esa necesidad pendiente para el que ha sido las artes plásticas y en la que ha estado trabajando por los últimos 10 años con el objetivo de desarrollar su técnica y estilo, ahora desde la madures y su experiencia creativa, combinada con su trabajo como músico y productor de audiovisuales.
Las influencias mas notables del artista se muestra en un recorrido que va desde las formas mas elementales de la pintura renacentistas hasta las surrealistas mas absurdas, dejando ver un estilo depurado y lenguaje estético elevado.
